Undo Tweet
What is Undo Tweet?
Undo Tweet is a Twitter Blue feature that gives you the option to retract a Tweet after you send it, but before it’s visible to others on Twitter. It’s not an edit button, but a chance to preview and revise your Tweet before it’s posted for the world to see. Once the Undo period is over, the Tweet is viewable to your followers and you can either leave it or delete it, like you normally would on Twitter.
Tapping Undo sends you back to the Tweet composer where you can make changes before posting the Tweet, or deciding not to post at all. You can also select Send now to skip the Undo Tweet option and post your Tweet immediately.
You can turn Undo Tweet settings on for all or some of the different types of Tweets including Original Tweets, Quote Tweets, threads, and replies.
When active, Undo Tweet displays a countdown of the time left until your default 30-second Tweet Undo period expires, and your Tweet appears on Twitter. Shorten or lengthen the expiration window to 5, 10, 20 or 60 seconds under the Twitter Blue feature settings menu.
If you turn off Undo Tweet, you won’t see the Undo Tweet prompt.

FAQs
Is Undo Tweet an edit button?
Undo Tweet is not an edit button. Undo Tweet allows you to pull back and revise Tweets that haven’t been posted on Twitter for the world to see yet. Once the Undo period is over, the Tweet is viewable to the public and you can either leave it or delete it, just as you normally would on Twitter. Tweets that are already viewable to the public can’t be edited.
Can I undo any Tweet?
You’ll have the option to activate Undo Tweet for Original Tweets, Quote Tweets, threads, and replies before they are viewable to everyone. Leave your Undo Tweet settings on for all or some of the different types of Tweets.
I need help with Undo Tweet.
First, make sure you have the Undo Tweet setting turned on. Eligible tweets will show an Undo option after you send the Tweet.
Select Undo before the Tweet Undo period expires. This sends you back to the composer where you can edit or delete your Tweet or save it as a draft.
You can always choose to shorten the Undo Tweet period or skip the Undo option and post your Tweet immediately by selecting Send Now.
Where can I access Undo Tweet?
You’ll have access to this feature from a notification after you compose a Tweet, and from the Home timeline during your Undo Tweet period.
Why can’t I see the option to Undo a Tweet?
Twitter Blue defaults to a 30-second Tweet Undo period, that’s managed and customized from your Twitter Blue feature settings menu. If you choose to turn it off, you won’t see the Undo Tweet prompt.
How do I undo my Tweet after the notification disappears?
After you send a Tweet, if you're still in your Undo Tweet window, you can undo or edit the Tweet you sent from the home timeline or from your profile page.
Why didn't my Tweet send right away?
As an active Twitter Blue subscriber, you won’t find a Tweet you compose in your Home timeline right away because your features include an Undo Tweet option that gives you a short window to edit your Tweet before it becomes public. If you want to skip this intentional delay, you can turn off your Undo Tweet feature in your Twitter Blue settings, or tap Send Now to send immediately.
