Accessing Media Studio


How do I get permission to access Media Studio?

Access to Media Studio will be given to verified subscribers only. Get verified to access Media Studio: https://x.com/i/verified-choose

How do I access Media Studio?

To access Media Studio, go to studio.x.com and log in using your X credentials. You can also go to X.com, click on the More button within the side menu and then click on the Media Studio button.
 

Which internet browsers are supported?

Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge are fully supported. 
Safari is supported, except for uploading VOD custom thumbnails.
Internet Explorer is not supported.
 

Can I use Media Studio with adblockers enabled?

Generally yes, though some functionality, like adding users to your account, will not work when adblockers are enabled. Either turn off your adblocker, or allowlist the x.com domain in your adblocking software. The page should then load upon refresh.
 

 

Managing permissions across accounts

How to add additional people to your Media Studio account
  1. Click the dropdown next to your name in the top-right corner.
  2. Click Edit access to account.
  3. Click the Add access button.
  4. Begin typing the username of the person receiving the access, and select it from the suggested list that appears.
  5. Select a permission-level from the list:
    • Studio account administrator.
    • Studio contributor.
    • Studio publisher. 
    • Studio analyst. 
    • Studio uploader.
  6. Click Save Changes.


Why do I see a blank/white page when I try to edit access/roles/permissions for Studio?

Adblockers will block the content of the page. Either turn off your adblocker, or allowlist the X.com domain in your adblocking software. The page should then load upon refresh.
 

Why isn’t an account appearing in the username search field?

Most commonly this occurs when the handle was just created; wait 24 hours and try searching for the username again. If after 24-hours the handle does not appear, please reach out to your account manager for assistance. If you do not have a account manager, you can file a support ticket here: https://help.x.com/forms
 

I added an account, why can’t I see it?

You cannot grant yourself access to another account. In order to see the contents of another account, they would need to grant you access. For more information, follow the instructions for ‘How to add additional people to your Media Studio account’.
 

Can I change a role for an existing user?

Yes, click ‘Edit access’ at the top of the page and make any necessary modifications to the listed users.
 

Can I manage media libraries for multiple usernames?

Yes, once someone has given you access to their Media Studio account, you can switch between accounts via the dropdown on the top-right.
 

 

Understanding account permission levels
 

  • Studio account administrator: has access to all actions in Media Studio and can add/edit/remove other users. The account owner will by default be granted this permission level.
    • Edit access to account: add/edit/remove
    • Monetization: full access
    • Library: full access (includes shared media and scheduled posts)
    • Producer: full access
    • LiveCut: full access
    • Analytics: full access
       
  • Studio contributor: has access to all actions in Media Studio except for the ability to add/edit/remove other users or to modify monetization settings
    • Edit access to account: no access
    • Monetization: ability to modify monetization for individual media, but not set defaults on the account level
    • Library: full access (includes shared media and scheduled posts)
    • Producer: full access
    • LiveCut: full access
    • Analytics: full access
       
  • Studio publisher: only has the ability to publish (post/schedule) from their own account (cannot post/schedule from the account that granted them this access).
    • Edit access to account: no access
    • Monetization: no access
    • Library: cannot manage media (upload/modify/delete), but can post/schedule media from their own account, same for shared media library
    • Producer: cannot manage broadcasts, but can post/schedule posts for broadcasts from their own account
    • LiveCut: can view and post existing clips from their own account, cannot make new clips
    • Analytics: no access
       
  • Studio analyst: can only view the analytics tabs within all media in Media Studio and download the analytics .csv files. Does not have access to any other features. 
    • Edit access to account: no access
    • Monetization: no access
    • Library: can view media and analytics
    • Producer: can view broadcasts and analytics
    • LiveCut: can view clips and analytics
    • Analytics: full access
       
  • Studio uploader: can upload, create, edit, modify, delete, end media or broadcasts, but cannot post
    • Edit access to account: no access
    • Monetization: no access
    • Library: can upload, delete, and edit media and metadata, cannot post
    • Producer: can start/schedule, update, delete, and end broadcasts and metadata, cannot post
    • LiveCut: can create, edit, and delete clips and metadata, cannot post
    • Analytics: no access
