Check your network connection

If you’re not able to launch twitter.com, check your network connection. 

If you’re connected to a VPN, try turning it off. If turning off the VPN fixes your connectivity issue, you’ll need to contact your VPN provider for help.

Try a private browser or go incognito

Going incognito means using a private browser window to navigate a website. Navigate to your browser settings to turn on private browsing.

Update your browser

Many issues can be resolved by making sure you're using the most recent version of your browser. If you are unsure of which version you are using, this tool may be able to tell you:  https://www.whatsmybrowser.org/.

Clearing your browser cache and cookies may resolve the issue. Instructions can be found here:

Do you have browser add-ons, plug-ins or extensions installed?
 

Some browser extensions can interfere with actions performed on Twitter.com. Try disabling any browser add-ons you may have enabled (you do not need to delete them completely), which may resolve the issues you are experiencing.

If you use any additional software such as an ad-blocker, we'd suggest turning those off one at a time in case our site is being blocked in some way. If you discover the issue is resolved while an application is turned off, you can then troubleshoot with the settings in that software.
 

Do you have any third-party connections to your Twitter account?
 

Sometimes issues can arise through third-party connections to your Twitter account. Visit your Apps settings to review third-party connections and try revoking access for any unnecessary apps. You can read about how to revoke third-party access to your account.

Log out of your account

Logging out of your account may help solve the trouble you're experiencing. 

Logging out of your account keeps a draft of your Tweet in the Unsent Tweets section of the Tweet compose box. To find your draft:

  1. Go to twitter.com
  2. Select the to open the Tweet compose box.
  3. Select Unsent Tweets from the top right corner of the compose box.
  4. Select Drafts to find your Tweet.
