How to share or edit a Periscope broadcast

How can I share my broadcast on Twitter?

You can share your broadcasts on Twitter if you’ve connected your Twitter account to your Periscope account. 

If you created your Periscope account using your Twitter account, you should be all set to share to Twitter. If this isn’t the case, you’ll be prompted to connect your Twitter account in the Broadcast Tab. Once you’ve connected your Twitter account, you can follow the steps below to share a broadcast to Twitter.

How to share your broadcasts on Twitter
Step 1

Go to the Broadcast Tab and tap the Twitter icon above Go LIVE

Step 2

If you haven’t connected your Twitter account to your Periscope account, you’ll be prompted to complete this.

Step 3

Once your Twitter account is connected, make sure the Twitter icon on the Broadcast Tab is on, by selecting Twitter Post ON. You can stop sharing your broadcasts at any time by tapping the Twitter icon on the Broadcast Tab and selecting Twitter Post OFF.

Step 4

During your broadcast, you can share it with your Twitter followers by swiping right and tapping the Share button. Then select Twitter, compose your Tweet, and tap the Post button to share.

Step 5

After your broadcast, you can share it with your Twitter followers by going to your Broadcasts. Then select the replay you’d like to share, scroll down, and tap the Share button. Finally, select Twitter, compose your Tweet and tap the Post button to share.

Once your Twitter account is connected, make sure the Twitter icon on the Broadcast Tab is tapped on, by selecting Twitter Post ON. You can stop sharing your broadcasts at any time by tapping the Twitter icon on the Broadcast Tab and selecting Twitter Post OFF.

Step 4

As you start your broadcast, you can Tweet it out by tapping the Twitter icon on the Broadcast Tab, and selecting Posting to Twitter as @_____.

Step 5

After your broadcast, you can Tweet it out by going to your Broadcasts, selecting the replay you’d like to share, and tapping Share Broadcast. Tap Share on Twitter, then compose your Tweet, and tap the Tweet button to share.​

How do I make edits to my broadcast?

You can edit your broadcast titles, change your thumbnail, and select a custom start point for your replays. All edits will be visible in the replay, and thumbnail and start point edits will be reflected in Tweets.

Keep in mind that broadcast titles can only be edited up to three times. Additionally, it will take up to 15 minutes for edits to appear in Twitter, and up to a minute for them to appear in Periscope.

To make edits to your broadcast

  1. Go to Broadcasts on your Periscope profile.
  2. Select the broadcast you want to edit.
  3. Tap the more () icon  in the bottom right of the screen.
  4. Select Edit Broadcast.
  5. Make any edits to the broadcast title, start point, or thumbnail.
  6. Tap Done.

An Edit Broadcast option will also show up right after you end your broadcast.
