How to change your language settings

Learn how to change the display language settings on your Twitter account. Choose your preferred language for headlines, buttons, and other text from Twitter.

 

Note: Display language settings on your Twitter account can only be changed on twitter.com. To change the display language on Twitter for iOS or Twitter for Android apps, go to your device’s Settings feature.

Arabic (Feminine) display language is currently only available on web.

How to change your display language settings
Step 1
Go to your device’s Settings feature and tap General.
Step 2
Tap Language & Region.
Step 3

Tap iPhone Language to change your primary language, or Other languages to add a language.

Step 4

Go back to your device's Settings until you see the Twitter for iOS app and tap on it.

Step 5

Under Preferred Language, tap Language and select the language you'd like to use.

Step 1
Go to your device’s Settings feature and tap System.
Step 2

Tap Languages & input, then Languages.

Step 3

If you can't find System, then under Personal, tap Languages & input, then Languages.

Step 4

Tap Add a language and choose the language you want to use.

Step 5

Drag your language to the top of the list.

Step 6

Restart your Twitter for Android app.

Step 1

Click on the more icon  and select Settings and privacy from the drop-down menu.

Step 2

Click on the Accessibility, display, and languages tab.

Step 3

Click Languages.

Step 4

Under Display language, click and choose your preferred language for headlines, buttons, and other text from Twitter. You may be prompted to enter your password. Click Save.


Note: Changing your display language settings does not change the language of the content you see on your Home timeline.

To change the content language (Tweets, people, and trends) preferences in your Twitter account, follow these steps.

How to change your content language preferences
Step 1

From the navigation menu, tap Settings and privacy.

Step 2

Tap Content preferences, and choose Recommendations from the Languages drop-down menu.

Step 3

Choose from any languages listed you'd like to see people, Trends, and Tweets in.

Step 4

Tap Done.

Tap Content preferences, and choose Recommendations from the Languages drop-down menu.

Choose from any languages listed you'd like to see people, Trends, and Tweets in.

Tap Done.

Step 1

Click on the More icon  and select Settings and privacy from the drop-down menu.

Step 2

Click on the Accessibility, display, and languages tab.

Step 3

Click Language.

Step 4

Choose Select additional languages or Languages you may know (languages Twitter inferred based on your activity).

Step 5

Make your language selections. You may be prompted to enter your password. Click Done to save the change(s).
