Customizing your Twitter profile

<p>The default avatar isn't so bad, but your friends will be happy to see your shining face. Change your picture in the 5th tab of your <a href="http://twitter.com/account/picture">account settings</a> page, the picture tab. Your picture can be up to 700k, and we support JPG, GIF, and PNG formats. <span style="font-weight: bold;">To change your picture:</span></p>
<ol>
<li style="text-align: left;"><strong>Log in</strong> to Twitter</li>
<li>Once logged in, look in the navigation bar at the top of the page and click <strong>Settings</strong></li>
<li>Click the 5th settings tab, <strong>Picture</strong></li>
<li>Click <strong>Browse</strong> and select one of your pictures</li>
<li>Click <strong>Save</strong> at bottom</li>
</ol>
<p>We no longer support animated .GIF files. If you already have a picture other than the default image, click "delete current" and follow the steps above.</p>

If your image's file size is too large, the easiest way to get it down is to use and image editing program or web app to shrink the image. <span style="font-weight: bold;">To customize your design</span>:</p>
